About Us

The Park Benches journey began 30 years ago when Mac and his father pulled a Kauri log out of a swamp and transformed it into a stunning grandfather clock.

Mac had always had a knack for building things. His talent for math, calculations, and woodwork was evident during his early years. However, this school project sparked an obsession. Even after beginning his career in the family's farming business, he could never let go of his love for creating. In 2007, he followed his heart and started Park Benches.

Today, our company embodies the values of creativity, sustainability, and durability.

Our dedication to creativity drives us to craft unique, bespoke designs, ensuring that no two pieces of furniture are ever the same. In a world of waste, we are committed to sourcing sustainable materials and collaborating with various parties across Aotearoa to ensure that our practices are environmentally friendly. Our focus on durability means that all large creations, such as school tables and park benches, are designed based on engineering reports to ensure longevity and safety.

At Park Benches, we also believe in the power of personal touch. Our founder, Mac, oversees every project from design to delivery to ensure a bespoke experience for each of our customers. This hands-on approach is our secret to guaranteeing the highest level of quality in every piece and brings Mac immense satisfaction. Seeing the joy on people's faces when they first see their new furniture fills his cup and fuels his passion for creating. As a family man, the happiness he brings to others also enriches his home life, creating a cycle of spreading joy that serves as our blueprint for success.
